Adetoun Anene

Adetoun Anene holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B. Hons) from Obafemi Awolowo University and a Barrister-at-Law (B.L. Hons) qualification from the Nigerian Law School. She is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association. She is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and a Designate Compliance Professional (DCP), as well as a member of the Compliance Institute of Nigeria. With over two decades of professional experience spanning the banking industry and legal practice, Adetoun has developed strong expertise in core banking operations, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
She joined Emerging Africa Capital Group in October 2023 as Head of Operations and Business Sustainability. In recognition of her leadership and contributions, she was appointed Head of Enterprise Risk Management and Sustainability effective May 1, 2024, reflecting Management’s confidence in her capabilities and her continued alignment with the Group’s strategic objectives. She also heads the Customer Engagement team in the Group.
Most recently, Management announced an expansion of her role to include Head of Legal and Compliance, further broadening her leadership responsibilities within the Group.
